made in 1863 for Owen
Owens, a Liverpool chronometer dealer.
Fortunately, rating certificates survive which identify the original
owner Cpt. T Roberts and two ships he
commanded, the ‘Dawstokes’
an Australia Packet
and the ‘Fairy Belle’ a barque of 518 tons. In very
authentic condition retaining original lacquer and keys, the movement
is superb with fine spotting, gold hands and beautiful dial engraving.
